You can help West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service by providing a mail distribution, registry/reprographics and administrative service within the Corporate Services department.

Job Purpose: Provide a mail distribution, registry, printing, photocopying and binding service to the Authority and provide administrative assistance across the Corporate Services department.

Key Responsibilities: You will receive and distribute all mail within the Fire Service complex and other sections/stations within the Service including dealing with internal and external mail.  You will provide a printing, photocopying and binding service. You will deal with administrative duties including producing and maintaining comprehensive records by use of Excel, SharePoint and other software packages and provide assistance and cover in other areas of work within the Corporate Services department.

Essential requirements: You will have excellent administrative experience along with experience of various IT systems and databases including Excel, Access, SharePoint, Word.  You will be both numerate and literate, have GCSE Grade ‘C’ Maths and English or equivalent and have the ability to contribute to a team environment, be able to work flexibly and be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information.  You will have commitment to providing excellent customer service both internally and externally.

The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and the possession of current valid driving licence.

Job Purpose

To manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance ensuring compliance and the optimal working efficiency of building services and facilities across the estate. To manage the Reactive Repairs, ensuring they are complete in a timely manner, so service delivery isn’t affected.  

You will manage contractors and undertake project management and clerk of works duties in regard to related programmes, reactive repairs and projects. You will provide hands-on management of building services, undertaking routine inspections and diagnostics as necessary. Specifying minor work schedules, projects, and small refurbishments.  

You will have suitable experience in a Building Services / repairs or Facilities Management role within a multi-sited environment. You will have experience of directly managing planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing regimes, including diagnosing faults and coming up with effective solutions. You should have a knowledge and practical use of Property Asset Management Systems and records including other electronic applications.  

Hybrid working: whilst you will be required to work from our offices for parts of your initial training, after this you'll work both in the office and from home as part of our 'hybrid' working model. Therefore, applicants must have a reliable home internet connection.

As an Assistant Stores Manager, you will be at the heart of our operations, leading and inspiring our dedicated team of Storekeepers. You will support the Stores Manager in ensuring that our processes are implemented effectively, and our Quality Management System is upheld. Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day operations, managing goods in and out, and ensuring that our department meets the expectations of our service users.

You will have demonstrable experience of managing and leading a small team and a background working in a stores or warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be IT literate with a working knowledge of procurement and stores management systems. A Literacy and Numeracy qualification at Level 2 / GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above is a pre- requisite for the post.
