Silsden Fire Station
Silsden Fire Station was built in 1973 and has one firefighting appliance. It is managed by a station commander, who is also responsible for Ilkley and Keighley Fire Stations, a watch commander, who mans the station through the day, and is staffed by retained firefighters, who operate the ‘on call’ retained duty system.
The station borders with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and works closely with the other retained stations, Ilkley and Otley, that provide cover through the Worth Valley, and are proactive in training with the other surrounding whole time stations, in readiness to respond to incidents outside of the station area.
