Keighley Fire Station was built in 1964 and borders with both Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.  The team is made up of a station commander, who also manages Ilkley and Silsden, 24 firefighters and a station clerk.  The station has one fire appliance and also a specialist Wildfire and hazardous material vehicle.

The station continues to improve the service delivered to local communities by communicating and co- working with key multi agency partners, in order to deliver a more detailed service.  Training sessions are conducted with partners, and staff meet regularly with the ward representatives (Central, East, West and Craven & Worth) in order to address what is the best way to move forward in providing a collective service for the public.  These partners assist in identifying people most at risk and providing referrals for the safe and well visits that staff will conduct on a daily basis.  Staff will also continue to actively participate in local community safety projects and strive to reach the most vulnerable members of the community.

All members of staff will train on a daily basis against the risks for Keighley and surrounding areas, and will help businesses with fire prevention advice.

The aim of Keighley fire station is to provide a well trained and professional service, in prevention and responding to the needs of the community to keep them safe.
