The station crew are actively involved with their local community by providing home fire safety advice and talks. They also work with other agencies to identify those vulnerable individuals who are at greatest risk from fire and provide the necessary assistance.
School talks and attendance at galas also raise the profile of the station and provide additional ways of ensuring that the fire safety message is delivered helping to make Featherstone and West Yorkshire a safer place.
Continuing alongside our community activities, we ensure our preparedness for operational incidents by extensive local and inter-agency training and improve our intelligence on the key risks and hazards we may face at an incident by a programme of visits to local business and industry.
