Operational training for firefighters are incorporated into the daily work schedule and ensures a quick, professional, competent and compassionate response to all emergency situations.  The team is made up of a station commander, 40 firefighters and a Station Clerk.

Cleckheaton Fire Station, built in 1952, has some of the most highly skilled firefighters within the country as it is the base for the Technical Rescue Team and New Dimension equipment for Urban Search and Rescue (USAR).  This means that Cleckheaton personnel have received additional specialist training to deal with more serious incidents should they be required.
